Hi kids, I know it is a bit late...but you will have to excuse me since it's hard to keep up with all the workload  I have...and yes! I'm a busy person, well I'd better stop kidding and post the great projects you have created for the end of Unit 2.

In class we have seen Yoko's school. Now have a look at one of the most important boarding schoosl in the UK. Presta ahora atención a uno de los colegios más prestigiosos de todo el Reino Unido.

Es bastante curioso el hecho de que en Inglaterra los colegios más privados y exclusivos se llaman Public Schools (cuando son todo lo contrario!).

The most important Public School in the Uk is Eton College. The most influential people in the UK have studied here. Have a look and enjoy yourselves!!

UNIT 2: BODY LANGUAGE

Hi kids,
I have to admit that this is a really interesting topic... you can find out lots of things just by paying attention to body language, gestures, eyes and hands movements...

I'm going to post some tips to improve your body language...if you follow thespieces of advice, you will look much more confident and positive person.

THE MYSTERY OF STONEHENGE

Hellooooo,
well, we have finished Unit 1 and the exam, at last! Now I'd like to talk about one of the great mysteries of history in England: Stonehenge. Remember that in the end of the unit we were studying different types of pre historic writings; such as caves, clay, papyrus, etc... so now it cames in handy to talk about Stoneheng.

Hola chicos y chicas, os voy a hablar ahora de Stonehenge. Se trata de un conjunto de megalitos (piedras grandes) que tienen miles de años y que no se sabe muy bien la finalidad de esta construcción. Seguramente era para ritos religiosos y celebraciones místicas  pero no está muy claro...hay mucha gente que piensa que estas piedras tiene relación con avistamientos extraterrestres y es punto de contacto....qué misterio!

GET READY FOR THE EXAM!

Hi students? How are you?
I hope you spend this weekend studying and revising all the things that we have learned throughout this Unit number 1.

Como quiero que saquéis buena nota, os digo las partes del examen para que queden claras, vale? 
Allá vamos...

1. VOCABULARY (2points)

In this section you will find some sentences to translate into both English and Spanish. These sentences will be taken from the Student's Book and Workbook.

A ver...en la sección de vocabulario tendréis que traducir frases que hemos visto en la unidad de introducción y unidad 1 del Student's Book y Workbook. Así que echadles un buen vistazo y practicarlas en casa muuucho.

2. GRAMMAR (3'5 points)

Very important: how to use the verb "to have got"...remember:

We use "have got" for plural subjects ( and the pronoun I). They have got English lessons on Friday.

And we use "has got" for singular subjects: She has got a nice dress.

You also have to study possessive pronouns: my, your, his, her.....

Don't forget the verb "to be". I am, you are, he is...

3. WRITING (1'5 points)

You need to write the writing about your personal information that we have practised in class.

4. LISTENING (1 points)

A very easy recording where you will circle the correct answer.

5. READING ( 2 points)

The most important when dealing with a text is to read it carefully and to know what is being asked.

Lo mas importante que tenéis que hacer con el Reading es leelo bien y saber qué os pregunta. Recordad las Question Words.

What- Qué?
Where- Dónde?
Where.....from- De dónde?
When- Cuándo?
Why- Por qué?
Who- Quién?

Os dejo ahora un trailer de la película The New Karate Kid, que es bastante buena, y va sobre un niño que con trabajo y disciplina consigue trinfar. TSUNAMI IN INDONESIA

Hi again...last week we read a text about Anika. Do you remember her? She lived in Bangladesh and floods were common in her local area.
A Tsunami is like an earthquake, but in the sea, and unfortunately is quite frequent in Asian countries, like tornadoes in Florida.

I'm not going to keep talking about disaster, since they make me feel down, and we are here to feel good, aren't we?
But having to do with these facts, I'd like to talk about Lo Imposible. I'm sure you have heard about it, some of you may have watched it in the cinema. It's about the Tsunami that hit Asia in December 2004. I don't know if I'll go and see it, because I don't feel like crying, but may be I'll go...

Have a look at the trailer and decide...If you make up your mind, you could leave some comments about your impressions on the film.
