Hi kids,
it's nice to know you are back again...as you know, in Unit 1 we are studying countries, nationalities, traditions and cultures about the British world...now I am going to show you about Liverpool.

Now you can have a quick perspective of the city just by reading the following facts:

It's a great city in the Northeast of England.
It has got around 500.000 inhabitants.
In 2008 it was awarded as European Capital of Culture.
Its Chinese Town is one of the most important in the world.
The liverpudian are also called Scousers and their accent is very difficult to understand!
Did you know that The Beatles were from Liverpool?

In Ireland, they celebrate St. Patrick's Day with great enthusiasm. It's on the 17th of March...Look at the following video an see the great time theses Irish people have...

In Scotland, Scottish have St. Andrew's Day on the 30th November. They play musical instruments and wear traditional Scottish clothes.

In this post I'm going to make reference to some of the most important British schools. In England, it's curious the fact that the most exclusive, expensive and private schools are known by the name od Public Schools...

Es bastante curioso el hecho de que en Inglaterra los colegios más privados y exclusivos se llaman Public Schools (cuando son todo lo contrario!).

The most important Public School in the Uk is Eton College. The most influential people in the UK have studied here. Have a look and enjoy yourselves!!

En mi primera entrada os presentaré a Gareth Gates...es un cantante londinense que quedó subcampeón en Pop Idol 2002 (algo parecido a Operación Triunfo). La canción que canta es una versión de Unchained Melody (sale en la película Ghost y seguro que la habéis oído) y el grupo que originalmente la cantaba eran: The Righteous Brothers.
