Exam dates for 4ºESO

Hi,

I remind you the dates for exams we are having next week...

26th November: Oral Test and Vocabulary. You will have to study the Oral tests of the three units we have studied so far. Don't worry about the third Oral test, I will give it to you soon. I also comment that I have just posted the list of words from the Vocabulary in moodle, in case you want to check out.

27th November: Exam of Unit 3 (and previous).

Remember that you have my email address to contact me in case you want to ask anything, doubts, exercises, etc...I'll give an answer immediately.
For now I'm posting a funny theatrical trailer about Dumb and Dumber 2, so you can relax a bit before the exams...the film looks so funny! I'll go and see it soon! ;)

Tuesday 25th November: Exam Unit 3 (and previous)

Friday 28th November: Oral Test and Vocabulary. You will have to study the three oral tests (I will give you the Oral Test 3 soon) and the vocabulary. I have posted in moodle all the words in case you don't have them all.

You will do a Prezi Presentation including relevant information such as:

1. Type of criminal.
2. Crimes he/she did.
3. Family life.
4. More details about his life.

Exam Unit 1, 4ºESO and more...

I would like to write some lines about the exam that we are having next week. It will consist of different parts such as:

Vocabulary

Pease revise the texts that we have studied becasue in the exam I will pick up sentences from these texts.

Grammar

It is important that you practice the Past Simple Tense from the activities in the book. Don't forget the form "used to" (solía). You will find at least one activity related to this grammar point.

You will have to write an email about your holidays! You can follow the model from the Student's Book.

Reading

There will be a text with vocabulary related to travelling and holidays... so revise vocabulary and question words.

Preparing the first exam 3ºESO

Hello,
  as you know, the exam will consist of different parts...Vocabulary, grammar, listening, writing and reading.

VOCABULARY

There are sentences form the texts we have studied in lesson..."Eat breakfast" page 10 and "Food facts" page 13.

GRAMMAR

Activities similar to the ones that we practiced in class. Many/much...how much/how many...some/any, etc...
revise the activities and you can also try the ones in my blog...
Please revise verbs "to be" "to have", "there is/are"...

WRITING

Study the Review of the restaurant that you did. Remember, 60 words minimum and complete all the information areas requested. name of restarurant, food it serves, reasons you recommend it, etc.....

READING

Questions about a text. Please remember qauestion words such as: What, Where, When, Why, How, Who...

PAST SIMPLE AND PAST CONTINUOUS

Hello!

I'm going to explain the difference between Past Simple and Past Continuous...

1. WHILE...this word means "mientras" and is followed by Past Continuous...
While I was working, my brother was sleeping.

2. Clock Time... We use the Past Continuous.
They were writing a letter at 7.50.

3. WHEN...this word means "cuando" and is followed by Past Simple...
I was watching TV when my mum opened the door.

3. Sometimes we don't have tips and it is difficult to decide between Past Continuous or Past Simple. Then we have to look at the verb...

Short Action verbs ( close, open, start, finish, end, arrive, come, see, hear, knock, fall...) These verbs go in Past Simple.
We opened the book when the teacher got angry.

Long Action verbs ( listen, sleep, study, read, write, watch, eat, walk, run...) These verbs go in Past Continuous.
We were listening to the music for two hours.

Study the text from pages 44 and 47 Student's book.
Page 36, text about Story telling in your Workbook.

Grammar:
 1. Activities about Past Simple (Time for Yesterday) Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative. The most important irregular verbs you have to study are:

BE / BEGIN / BREAK / BRING / BUY / COME / DO / DRAW / EAT / DRIVE / FIND / GET / GIVE / GO / HAVE / KNOW / LEARN / MAKE / LEAVE / MEET / RUN / SAY / SEE / SEND / SIT / SLEEP / SPEAK / TAKE / THINK / WEAR / WRITE.

 2. Activities to correct mistakes.

 3. Activities to make circles in the correct option. Including Present Simple, Continuous, to have, to be, muich, many.....

Writing:
 1. Write a book or film review. Use 50 words at least.

Hello! for Monday's exam, you will need to study the following items very carefully:

Vocabulary:
there are sentences to translate from the following texts:
About Lake Como (p.49), A Run Around the World (p. 47), A Young Girl's Story ( p.44)

Grammar:
Revise the Past Simple (Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative), Revise Present Simple and Continuous; there will be an activity to fill gaps. You will have to know the difference between these two tenses.

Then you will find an activity to circle the correct answer. You will find much/many, comparatives, etc..

Finally, an exercise about There was/ There were.

The most important irregular verbs are: BE / BEGIN / BREAK / BRING / BUY / COME / DO / DRAW / EAT / DRIVE / FIND / GET / GIVE / GO / HAVE / KNOW / LEARN / MAKE / LEAVE / MEET / RUN / SAY / SEE / SEND / SIT / SLEEP / SPEAK / TAKE / THINK / WEAR / WRITE.
